Database Administrator

Job Description
Betstudios Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a full-time Database Administrator whose responsibility will be to enhance performance, security, and maintain our database systems. You will be involved in the design, optimisation, and fine-tuning of database schemas as well as troubleshooting any issues that might arise.

 Responsibilities:

•  Managing MySQL database configurations (installing, testing, upgrading, maintaining)
•  Troubleshoot performance issues while providing recommendations to maximize efficiency
•  Ensuring all systems are updated and up to standard with the latest versions
•  Implement and improve database availability, reliability, and disaster recovery procedures
•  Work closely with the development team in the design and optimisation of data structures.

Qualities:

•  Excellent knowledge of design and implementation of database architectures
•  Proficient in using Linux, databases, and open-source software
•  Good understanding of MySQL administration
•  Excellent knowledge of SQL queries, query optimisation, and stored procedures
•  Excellent problem-solving skills
•  Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal
•  Experience in using ProxySQL is considered an asset.
