Core Networks Engineer

Would you like to be part of the Core Networks team responsible for the correct installation, operation, and maintenance of various servers within Melita's technical operations center and applications? This is a highly technical role where you will have good input in the direction and development of the company’s network. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience in a telecommunications environment - however fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a Telecommunications-related field;
• Preferably have a minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualification;
• LPIC Linux Certification.

• Extensive knowledge of Internet & TCP/IP technologies;
• Extensive knowledge of various operating systems including Linux and Windows;
• Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies (Vmware), monitoring technologies and tools;
• Good understanding of Linux based email technologies and solid understanding of the subject;
• Good understanding of Linux based DNS software and a firm understanding of the subject;
• Good understanding of web and FTP services including Apache and IIS Skilled in programming especially scripting in Python/Perl;
• Security awareness and firewalling knowledge would be considered an asset;
• Good communication skills and a dedicated team player;
• Good organizational and supervisory skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Flexibility to work irregular hours when the need arises.
