Quantity Surveyor

Our client is seeking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor. As part of your responsibilities you will estimate the costs of construction projects whilst working closely with contractors, builders and architects to provide a cost-effective plan which would meet high-quality standards. 

Responsibilities: 

• Reviewing architectural plans and preparing quantity needs
• Estimating quantity and costs of material needed
• Preparing contracts and documents
• Setting budgets for payments, inventory needs and materials
• Analysing costs for maintenance and additional building needs 
• Tracking changes in plans or constructions:
• Updating budgets 
• Hiring snd documenting contractors and subcontractors 
• Acting as the main point of contact between clients and Site Managers / Engineers
• Stock controlling of construction materials and inventory 
• Identifying any potential financial or construction risks
• Advising on property taxes, regulations and local laws 
• Preparing payments for contractors and subcontractors
• Documenting progress, materials and reporting on projects 
• Sourcing maintenance costs and facilities management for clients 
• Developing and maintaining working relationships with contractors and subcontractors 
• Analysing completed projects to determine Return on Investment and compare costs

• Clear and concise communication skills in both English and Maltese
• Must be proficient in using MS Office applications and general computer skills
• Must be able to analyse financial records and apply data to improve results
• Strong aptitude for numbers spreadsheets and financial reports
• Experience in compiling and following strict budgets, strong estimating and financial analysis skills
• Understanding of construction, materials, pricing and industry exposure
• Problem-solving mindset

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering or related field
• 5 years experience of general construction estimating, financial experience or related field
