Our client, a leading company within the maritime industry, are looking for an Estimator join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs and resources required for marine-related projects, such as ship repairs, maintenance, and new construction.

Responsibilities:

· Review project specifications and requirements to understand the scope of work.

· To assess the financial, technical, and operational risks of the project

· Conduct site visits to assess the condition of vessels or structures and identify repair or
maintenance needs.

· Analyse labour, materials, and equipment data to estimate each project phase's cost.

· Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for clients, including labour, material, and
equipment costs.

· Review bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing for materials and
services.

· Develop project budgets and schedules based on the estimated costs and resources.

· Monitor project expenses and provide regular updates to the project team and clients.

· Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative solutions.

· Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project
goals and requirements.

Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Experience in marine project management would be an assist
  • Good analytical and mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software programs
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification in a related field
