SHOP MANAGER
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
• To manage, coach and develop the sales team in order to maximise the profitability of the store in-line with company objectives, promoting a positive image for the Calzedonia brand, inspiring both staff and customers and setting an example for staff to follow.
• To demonstrate and uphold the values and vision of the brand on the shop floor and beyond.
• To manage the efficient and effective operation of the store for which you are responsible.
REPORTS TO: Area Manager / Directors
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Flexibility on hours of work and mobility through out all hours
• Ability and willingness to comply with company standards, policies and practices in order to maximise store performance
• Demonstrate a passion for the Calzedonia Group products and a commercial sense to translate this passion into sales
• Ability to carry out a skin consultation with confidence
• Ability to apply make-up to others confidently
• An understanding of Brand objectives, their individual personal objectives and the expectations of the Brand from their role
• Understand and be able to communicate sales targets/performance effectively to others
• Ability to deliver store training effectively
PRIMARY JOB TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Service Management
• To ensure a management presence is maintained on the shop floor at all times
• To ensure that shop floor activity of self and others is timely and customer focused
• To achieve excellent customer service, monitoring and continually seeking to improve upon levels of customer service in store
• To ensure all staff are fully trained in best selling practices and customer service skills.
• To seek to resolve customer complaints promptly, taking appropriate action in line with company policy
• To attend and contribute to all area, regional and national meetings as required
People Management and Development
• To effectively carry out induction of new and current team members to current guidelines
• To ensure all on the job training is completed
• To develop a succession plan for the store, creating a base of promotable sales staff, and managing the development of high potential employees for promotion
Operations
• To develop and manage an effective staff roster in order to meet sales targets
• To operate the POS system as and when required maintaining high standards of accuracy, integrity and customer service
• To implement commercial merchandising plans and follow the Event Calendar Guidelines, and utilise Style File brand policies and materials
• To record and evaluate commercial impact of merchandising decisions
• To be responsible for achieving all stock Key performance indicators (including Stock loss, data accuracy)
• To manage the store within the budgets of cost laid out for it
Stock Management
• To ensure that deliveries are unpacked promptly and checked off efficiently
• To ensure the shop always has ample stock of its strong selling items, and to minimise stock holdings of its slower selling products.
• To ensure stock rotation and make sure ‘old’ stock is not forgotten
• To be responsible for store compliance to all stock management procedures (deliveries, timely acceptance, and discrepancies)
• To be responsible for carrying out Product integrity (PI) counts in accordance with instructions/timings
• To minimise stock loss (as a % of Sales)
Visual Presentation
• To maintain consistent, uncompromising high standards of presentation throughout the store, including Point of Sale material and promotions, and company property and assets
• To effectively plan and implement all visual direction in accordance with VM guidelines without impacting customer service
• To ensure a customer friendly environment – lighting, fragrance and music, optimizing the customers shopping experience
• To enforce high standards of personal image in line with company guidelines and dress code
• To monitor shop fitting standards/maintenance and take action required through AM
Risk
• To be responsible for the security of the store, including property, keys and cash, ensuring Company procedures are followed
• To minimise the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and report potential risks, real accidents and near misses to relevant managers/parties
• To maintain strict levels of confidentiality with regard to all areas of the business with specific reference to personal details of employees and commercial information
• To be responsible for maintaining acceptable standard of critical store based management controls to minimise all areas risk of loss
Other
• To actively participate in all organized marketing, pr and social campaigns
• To perform other related duties as assigned or requested
