Senior Procurement Officer
Our Client is a large building contractor undertaking a range of high profile projects throughout Malta.
Due to ongoing project awards and expansion of the team, a senior procurement professional is now required to source materials and subcontractors; negotiate best prices and work closely with site teams to ensure mobilisation and timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
- Sourcing materials, equipment and services whilst ensuring best possible quality, lead time and cost.
- Supporting tenders by preparing procurement packages, and evaluating quotations
- Negotiating rates to ensure competitive pricing
- Coordinating with site / project managers to ensure materials are mobilised in best possible time
- Conducting regular site visits to evaluate subcontractor and material delivery performance
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with project goals
- Assisting with logistics whilst resolving any issues with delivery schedules etc
- Remaining compliant with company policies, safety regulations, and legal standards in all procurement activities.
- Improving procurement procedures where possible
Talent will:
- Ideally have a construction background with a minimum of 2 years procurement experience
- Have strong communication skills in Maltese and English
- Be excellent organisers with extensive planning, problem solving and time management skills
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers
