Our client is a part of a well-established group with companies in different industries across Malta. This company is major hotel operator based in Malta. Due to team expansion, they are seeking a Purchasing/Stores Officer to be a part of their purchasing team in Valletta.
The responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:
Order items requested by department heads
Order required items at a competitive price – regularly compare purchases prices with other suppliers and the government gazette price list – keep adequate records of the price of regularly purchased items – inform management of all substantial price increases
Maintain a monthly price index of main commodities – prepare monthly reports of item purchase price changes
Raise purchase orders for all items ordered (quantity, suppliers agreed price, specifications)
Ensure product specifications conform to hotel standards
Ensure adequate stock levels as per hotels par stock levels
Directly purchase and deliver items, when urgent, upon General Manager’s approval
Applicants will:
Have minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
Preferably have an O’level standard education level
Have a good knowledge of suppliers and contacts
Be able to manage and lead a team of their co workers
Have excellent verbal/written communication and organisation skills
Be computer literate.
