Michael Debono Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Purchasing Clerk to join their team on a full-time basis. 

The company today operates one of Malta’s largest automotive dealerships. It represents more than 9 OEM brands. First and foremost, of these is Toyota – which was the first OEM brand we started to build a relationship with way back in 1960 when we imported the first Toyota vehicle to Europe. The company and employs more than 130 multi-disciplined employees. The product offering is composed of passenger and commercial vehicles, motorbikes, vehicle parts and accessories, and aftersales services. The company also offers consumers a range of consumer finance solutions to fund the acquisition of their vehicles.

Moving forward the company is looking to enhance the mobility experience for each and every customer by delivering great products that are customizable, affordable, comfortable, and environment friendly. The Position:
Reporting to the Purchase Leader, the Purchasing Clerk shall be responsible for:
  • Handling parts arriving via courier;
  • Handling backorders and inform clients about parts not arriving on the pre-stipulated date from the supplier;
  • Handling invoices of local parts and WMS enters into the stock system, pay through petty cash;
  • Carrying out system stock take on a daily basis;
  • Dealing with clients to source required parts;
  • Identifying best pricing for parts unless an exclusive agreement with an existing supplier exists;
  • Ordering of parts for selective business units;
  • Passing on invoices to finance team;
  • Carrying out other duties as directed by one’s superior.

The Requirements:
The ideal candidate will ideally:
  • Be familiar with Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Possess clean valid police conduct;
  • Have strong technical knowledge of parts;
  • Have good knowledge of Internal IT system;
  • Have knowledge of local suppliers;
  • Must be fluent in both Maltese and English Language;
  • Must have numerical skills.
