Distribution Officer

Our client, a leading international manufacturing company operating within the Pharmaceutical Industry, is recruiting for a Distribution Officer to join their Supply Chain / Transportation team. Reporting to the Senior Distribution Manager, your duties will include;

• Ensuring that transportation of goods operates in accordance with cGMP and company policies and procedures
• Liaising with suppliers/customers and forwarding agents for organisation of pickups and coordination of inbound shipments for all kind of shipment modes. This also involves customs formalities, other shipping documentation and local delivery with hauliers to Malta site
• Assuring that all matters related to inbound/outbound shipment matters are executed according to the planned time scheduled and within budget
• Liaising with forwarding agents in order to obtain competitive transportation costs, and identify efficient and effective transportation routes
• Submissions of customs formalities & NSO data related to inbound and outbound shipments
• Ensuring that all clerical work including filing and other duties are done properly
•  Ensuring that all documentation, such as packing lists and sales invoices related to outbound matters are done accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintaining inbound and outbound shipment data

• Knowledge of local and international transport procedures
• Knowledge of European Customs Procedures
• Knowledge of transport routes
• Good Negotiation Skills
• Based in Malta
• Excellent communication skills in Maltese and English

• Diploma standard of Education is a must, whereas having an IATA Qualification would be desirable
• Previous experience in a similar position ie. in an administrative capacity, preferably having a good understanding of logistics
