Assistant Purchasing Manager

Our client is one of the leading companies in Malta.  They would like to engage an Assistant Purchasing Manager to join their team

The Role

• You will be reporting into the Purchasing & Stores Manager
• You will coordinate purchases relating to local purchases, spare parts, marketing materials and consumables and any other materials 
• You will assist the Purchasing Manager to run the daily operation efficiently
• You will ensure that all shipping activities of spare parts, consumables, merchandising materials,
• Company stationery and uniforms are coordinated with the Shipping Officer
• The role entails that MRP system S.A.P is kept updated, with information regarding suppliers, items, prices, and quantities, at all times
• To recommend changes in procurement policies and improvements in overall operations to the Purchasing and Stores Manager
• To generate reports for the Purchasing and Stores Manager to evaluate and compare on a
• regular basis, usages, and sales trends to official budgets, to adjust ordering schedules accordingly
• To ensure that all purchases orders are issued taking consideration available budgets and any Company cash flow constrains
• You will ensure the establishment of reliable supply sources and backup sources to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods
• To take preventive measures to ensure on-time deliveries, and expedient action on delayed items
• You will assist the Purchasing and Stores Manager in the preparation of the departmental budget and assist in the formulation of company business plan and budgets
• To prepare adequate reports to senior management indicating interim performance 
• You will facilitate that Incoming Inspections are performed by Storemen/QA Analysts 
• To ensure that all relevant Purchase Orders, GRN’s, Issues, Statements.

• Minimum 2 years experience in a supply chain environment
• Have a Driving B License
• Have good mathematical skills
• Have experience in SAP
• Preferably have experience in Shipping

• Be fluent in Maltese, English and preferably Italian
