The Assistant Production Planner supports the coordination and execution of transportation and schedules within a Truck fleet operation. Working closely with clients, drivers, and internal teams. The Assistant Production Planner helps maintain timely deliveries, resolves scheduling conflicts, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
Responsibilities:
o Helping to receive and process client orders with accuracy.
o Maintain professional communication with clients to confirm orders and to provide updates.
o Assist to optimise delivery routes and travel times.
o Assist in creating schedules for truck drivers and clients
o Cooperate with the team to assign appropriate vehicles and drivers to delivery routes based on availability, capacity, and operational needs.
o Adjust plans as needed in response to changing demands or unforeseen circumstances.
Communication
o Serve as a liaison between drivers, production teams, clients, and other relevant parties.
o Provide timely updates regarding schedule changes, delivery progress, and potential delays.
o Quickly respond to scheduling conflicts, delays, and logistical issues.
o Develop practical solutions to minimise service disruptions.
o Maintain accurate records of schedules, changes, and incidents for management review.
