Two (2) Solution Architects - Hybrid Cloud or Databases Teams

We are seeking to employ talented Solutions Architects to join our Platform Engineering Services Teams, responsible for the continuous improvement and operation of the Government of Malta’s shared IT infrastructure. This includes a Hybrid Cloud platform (Azure and VMware), a mix of IaaS and PaaS offerings, the Government’s Server and Database ecosystem, enterprise-level storage and backup solutions, and Directory Services.

We are recruiting two (2) Solution Architects in the following areas:

1. Hybrid Cloud

• Administering and troubleshooting operational issues in the Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (Azure and VMware)

• Reducing incident recurrence and proposing service improvements

Desirable experience:

• Microsoft Azure Cloud

• VMware

• Veeam

2. Databases

• Administering operating systems and databases

• Troubleshooting operational issues, implementing service improvements, and automating processes

Desirable experience:

• Linux

• Relational Databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Oracle, etc.)

• Automation and Orchestration (Scripting / Ansible, etc.)

As a Solutions Architect, you will join a team of subject matter experts and experienced Solution/Enterprise Architects.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of qualifications and/or experience related to ICT:

• An ICT degree (MQF Level 7 or higher); OR

• An ICT degree (MQF Level 6) AND 1 year experience in an ICT-related area; OR

• An ICT diploma (MQF Level 5) AND 3 years’ experience in an ICT-related area; OR

• An ICT diploma (MQF Level 4) AND 4 years’ experience in an ICT-related area; OR

• Five years’ experience in an ICT-related area.

Candidates’ qualifications, experience, and competencies will be assessed in line with the Agency’s Career Progression framework. Successful candidates may be engaged at either the standard level – Career Level 4 or the Senior level – Career Level 5.
