Job Title: Technician (Electric Motor Repair)

We are seeking a versatile and skilled Technician to join our electric motor repair department. This role is perfect for a hands-on individual with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and a passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving. The Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of electric motors, contributing to our commitment to delivering high-quality repair services.

Responsibilities:

• Motor Diagnosis and Repair:
• Disassembly, inspection, and diagnosis of electric motor failures.
• Perform mechanical repairs, including bearing replacement, shaft repairs, and housing repairs.
• Perform electrical repairs, including rewinding, coil replacement, and insulation testing.
• Utilize testing equipment to evaluate motor performance.
• Coordinate the balancing of rotors, shafts and other rotating equipment.
• Document all repair activities and test results.
• Maintain and calibrate repair shop equipment, including winding machines, test benches, and lifting equipment.
• Ensure proper maintenance of hand tools and power tools.
• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Help maintain an organized and clean work area.

Technical Support:

Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Assist with the development and implementation of repair procedures.

Provide technical support to customers as needed.

Assist in quality control inspections and testing.

Assist in the ordering and inventory of repair parts.

Qualifications:

Technical certification or associate's degree in a related field (e.g., electrical technology, mechanical technology) preferred.

Proven mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Experience in electric motor repair or a related field is highly desirable.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.

Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AC and DC motor repair.

Knowledge of motor control systems.

Experience with vibration analysis and balancing.

Experience with the use of a lathe, and other machine shop tools.
