Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic/Electro-mechanic

Peppin Transport/ CABS+ Ltd Malta is seeking to recruit personnel for the following two positions.

KEY JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintenance and repair of our service fleet.

JOB-POST : Automotive/ HDV mechanic (full-time) - mechanical maintenance work and/or Automotive/ HDV technician (electrician & mechanic) (full-time) – electric maintenance work and basic mechanical support and assistance

Role: Prospective employees will be required to:

• run routine and daily vehicle maintenance servicing tasks accurately, efficiently, and safely

• maintain an up-to-date vehicle repair log

• organize the repair and maintenance schedule

• perform all other necessary vehicle repairs (mechanical jobs for Post 1; electromechanical jobs for Post 2)

• perform the required parts, systems and sub-systems inspection and testing

• maintain an up-to-date, organized, and clean workshop

• ensure that all parts, tooling, and equipment are stored properly at the end of the shift

• have necessary knowledge (preferably) about diesel engines and be experienced with running maintenance work on HDV. Preference is given to applicants having at least a minimum of four (4) years’ experience on Temsa, Vanhool, Scania, Man, Iveco or Mercedes heavy-duty vehicle brands.

Prospective candidates should:

• hold a valid driver’s license and a clean police conduct

• have a minimum of 4 years’ related work experience

• have a very good understanding, reading and conversation skills in English language along with good writing skills

• have a minimum of EQF level 4/ 5 certification (HTD or equivalent) as an automotive mechanic/ electrician/ technician

• preferably be knowledgeable in running servicing, repairs, and testing of automotive A/ C systems

• understand repair manuals (mechanic)/ wiring diagrams (technician) and necessary maintenance procedures on own account

• be able to handle modern technology diagnostic equipment along with effective data understanding and interpretation

• able to work in time-constrained situations and within a fast-moving environment

•be proactive, highly motivated, capable of performing work on own initiative

•be punctual and can follow instructions from superiors.
