Inspire Foundation in Malta is looking to recruit a General Maintenance Technician to join their team on a full-time basis.

General Scope and Purpose of Position:
We are currently looking for a General Maintenance Technician on a Permanent Full-Time basis. The chosen candidate shall be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and AC systems and around the buildings 
  • Repair M&E areas within the premises 
  • Fixing potential health and safety hazards to avoid injuries 
  • Physical repairs (minor carpentry)  to doors and apertures 
  • Ensure proper maintenance issues are identified  and resolve and complete work orders in a timely manner 
  • Inspect equipment from time to time for proper cleaning, speed, temperature, and adequate lubrication, including communal pool facilities, etc. 
  • Test malfunctioning machinery to determine whether major repairs are needed. 
  • Support Departmental budgets by cost reduction in the method of repair. 
  • Carryout out ground works by weeding flower beds, and clearing grasses, to ensure a clean and healthy environment 
  • Undertake special assignments are required 
  • Follow up with contractors’ workers.  
  • Follow Facilities SOPs and OHS policies


Qualification Requirements:
The ideal candidate should:

  • Have good knowledge of electricity, carpentry, and plumbing among other technical skills 
  • Have good knowledge of troubleshooting techniques in order to determine exact problems and tackle them accordingly 
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures 
  • Excellent ability to communicate system problems to both co-workers and management for proper understanding 
  • Exhibit good mechanical skills to handle equipment to avoid causing injuries to self and others on the ground 
  • Possess an aptitude for creating a safe environment for himself and others 
  • Have an MCAST qualification in basic engineering or its equivalent. Wireman’s License A is desirable.   
  • Have the ability to evaluate computer-related work orders in accordance with accuracy. 

*Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
