General Maintenance Assistant

Job Description
The Xara Palace in Malta is looking to recruit a General Maintenance Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

The Xara Palace is a unique 17th-century luxury boutique hotel, nestled in the majestic medieval fortified city of Mdina The group’s diversified portfolio comprises of the award-winning fine dining de Mondion perched on Mdina’s bastions, the cozy al fresco Trattoria located in the palace’s courtyard as well as of the Conference and Events center located just outside Mdina.

• You will ensure that our accommodation and public areas are maintained to the highest standard in line with Health & Safety and company Brand Standards.
• You will carry out preventative and proactive maintenance and be responsible for the overall maintenance of the building
• You will manage requests promptly, helpfully, and with a caring attitude to ensure the satisfaction of our guests at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• As General Maintenance Assistant, you will be required to conduct general maintenance inside and on the exterior of the property.
• You will respond to any calls regarding the maintenance and repair of the hotel and outlets equipment.
• You will have a basic knowledge of Plumbing/Carpentry/Wall Tiling/Decorating skills and be fully familiar with all Health & Safety instructions relevant to your area of work.
• You will be able to work both as a team and on your own initiative and to work effectively towards deadlines.
• You will communicate effectively with both the public and work colleagues.
