Hutchinson Malta Ltd is looking to recruit an Electrical Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Job Role: 
The Electrical Technician is responsible for executing corrective, predictive, and planned maintenance related to electrical work and mechanical actions. His/her duties also involve contributing to maintenance standards and procedures, and leading efforts on equipment standardisation. He/she carries out major overhauls or outages of equipment to ensure best practices within the plant.

Main Duties:
  • Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment and facilities.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair, and installation of building circuits and similar equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical hardware and systems, according to plan.
  • Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards.
  • Troubleshooting and corrective maintenance related to electrical faults or issues.
  • Carry out work on new projects as requested by the company.
Additional Duties:
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
  • Test systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.
  • Support the department on general maintenance duties when necessary.
  • Support MES (Coox) and ERP (Silver) implementation and utilisation.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used.
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operations of the equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure improvements and major upgrades to the electrical plants and subsystems.
  • Follow company Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure that Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are always adhered to.
  • Act in accordance with the Total Code of Conduct in the carrying out of duties.

Your Profile:
  • Electrical qualification or equivalent (authority and knowledge to operate electrical works)
  • Strong knowledge of practices and principles of system troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints and apply power and hand tools.
