Interior Outfitters Limited in Malta is looking to recruit a Carpenter/Joiner to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Job Role: 
The role of Carpenter/Joiner is a senior role with the incumbent being at a management level responsible for the safe and efficient running of the joinery shop to meet the company’s requirements. The role at a practical level is to deliver quality bespoke woodwork based on internal and/or external designs as well as delivering frames when required to the Upholstery section of the company. The role involves the technical design, material estimating, time estimating, scheduling, and production of the woodwork. The incumbent will ensure that all works completed are within budget, on time, and completed to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of health and safety, maintenance, and organization of the joinery workshop.
  • Production of time and material estimates as and when required.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships and preferred supplier accounts to ensure that materials and accessories are available and can be delivered when required.
  • Planning of work through the manufacturing process to meet the estimated delivery times.
  • Delivery of quality joinery works to the required standard, on time, and on budget.
  • Materials and stock management to ensure that all required materials and components are available for orders in manufacture.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to in relation to health and safety.
  • Implement and maintain a housekeeping program to ensure that the team is working in an efficient, tidy, and safe environment at all times.
  • Management of any reporting staff including monitoring any reporting employees’ performance. Coach and mentor members of the team offering regular feedback to employees on performance.
  • Complete any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by senior management.


Skills:

  • Joinery experience/qualification essential.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience.
  • Ability to prioritize own work and work of others.
  • Good technical understanding and relevant practical skills.
