About Technology:

Technology is at the core of the knowledge-based organization. It enables MFSA's strategic and operational objectives to be achieved efficiently and effectively.

The Technology team is made up of professionals specialized in relevant areas that include governance and planning, information systems, information security, technology operations, and service management. Officials from Technology also participate and give their contribution to several European committees, expert groups, and industry fora.

The Role:
As a Junior Assistant within the Governance and Planning team, you will be given exposure to real cybersecurity challenges, risks, and threats.  This will be achieved by:

  • Assisting with risk assessments on required tools needed to be introduced within the Authority.
  • Assist with ongoing research relating to current attack vectors and threats to develop and update policies and procedures.
  • Assist with mitigation procedures performed in relation to critical vulnerability releases, analysis of high-end security access logs, reports, etc.
  • Making use of highly sophisticated tools to collect and understand evolving threats and the introduction of new threat actors and groups.
  • From time to time assist with vulnerability tests being done within the Authority’s architecture.
  • Assist in other tasks as directed by management.

About You:
MFSA Technology team is on the lookout for candidates who are currently reading for a degree (MFQ Level 6) in or related to the areas of cybersecurity, information security, computer information systems, or information technology. The possession of industry certifications in ICT Risk, Information Security, and/or Cybersecurity would be considered an advantage. 

The selected candidate is also required to demonstrate good research, critical and analytical mindset, attention to detail, have excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. The selected candidate must be a team player, a quick learner, motivated, and able to understand the Authority’s business needs.
