About Technology:

Technology is at the core of the knowledge-based organisation. It enables MFSA's strategic and operational objectives to be achieved efficiently and effectively. The Technology team is made up of professionals specialised in relevant areas that include governance and planning, information systems, information security, technology operations and service management. Officials from Technology also participate and give their contribution in several European committees, expert groups and industry fora.

The Role:
He or she will report to the Head of Technology and will be a key member within the Function with responsibility for governance, policy and compliance, including cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, planning, budgeting, procurement, and active participation in business continuity and risk assessments.

The primary job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage a team of technology professionals and cybersecurity specialists
  • Responsibility for governance, policy, procedures, and compliance
  • Responsibility for cybersecurity, information security, enterprise architecture, planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract management
  • Active participation in business continuity and risk mitigation
  • Management information, reporting, and documentation
  • Represent MFSA at working groups and task forces at the local and international level.

About You:
We are looking for candidates with a solid foundation in information and communication technologies, having a related degree at MQF level 6, and must have a professional background of at least six (6) years in information security, risk assessments, contract management, budgeting and planning. You would also ideally have had some previous working experience in enterprise-level information and communication technologies governance and planning. As a seasoned professional, the selected candidate is expected to have strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, information and cybersecurity, IT planning, business continuity, IT risk, and commercial management. You would be expected to be very conversant with technologies, project management, COBIT framework, ISO 27001 and other applicable standards. If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications, but you have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Strong knowledge of innovative technologies and services;
  • Strong people management skills;
  • Effectual negotiating abilities;
  • Excellent communication skills and analytical skills.
