Archdiocese Of Malta is looking to recruit a Research Officer (Discern - Institute for Research on the Signs of the Times) to join their team on a full-time basis.
Job Role:
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Research Officer and will assist the latter in the development and execution of research projects in collaboration with other members of the research team. Applicants should be able to demonstrate familiarity with Discern’s mission and insight into the likely research needs of the Maltese Church. Applicants must also demonstrate a sound understanding of research ethics.
The ideal candidate must:
Be in possession of a Degree at MQF Level 6 in Social Sciences, Economics, or Public Policy. Applicants who: (i) are awaiting their final academic results leading to an MQF Level 6 qualification; or (ii) possess qualifications at MQF Levels 7 or 8 in related areas and who have a track record of research are also eligible to apply;
Demonstrate experience of qualitative and quantitative research;
Demonstrate very good writing skills;
Possess excellent communication skills. Experience in presentations and public speaking will be considered an asset;
Be able to work with and in a team, and to work on his/her own initiative; and
Have a valid driving licence.
*Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce samples of their written work for perusal by the Selection Panel at the interview.
