Our client is a Research & Development company having its main laboratory in Malta. Currently the company is looking for an R&D Analytical Manager. 

Your main responsibilities would be: 

  • Providing technical guidance in the development of strategies, analytical method development and organisation for the products in question
  • Managing the lab's analytical function 
  • Oversees analytical methods, data interpretations, problem-solving, and troubleshooting in accordance with standards set by R&D
  • Providing technical support to the Formulation Department & collaborate with the Project Manager in scoping special project work; aligning with the development team and executing projects
  • Helping the formulation manager implement departmental strategies, including looking at innovative methods for efficient testing
  • Effectively and independently oversee project priorities and workflow whilst delivering outcomes by the project's deadlines
  • Drafting, review, and/or approve the methods and reports for analytical validation. Control analytical systems and guarantee correct reporting for the development of analytical methods and share results and conclusions with the development team
  • Following up on developments and pending issues
  • Drafting and maintain SOPs related to analytical equipment and procedures
  • Supporting digitisation of database and research findings
  • Identifies departmental needs and helps with hiring, promoting, and recruiting individuals as necessary. Whilst coaching, training, and providing personnel with other relevant experiences to help them grow
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Excellent written and oral Communication skills in the English language
  • Good time management and project management skills
  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot
  • Candidates must be critical thinkers with the ability to multitask according to prioritisation
  • Self-motivated, with leadership skills and demonstrated teamwork accompanied with supervisory experience
  • Capable of learning and applying various analytical techniques whilst being experienced with statistical tools
Education & Experience
  • Qualification in one of the following is a must: BSc, MSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or a related science degree
  • A minimum of 5 years' of experience in a pharmaceutical setting, working in Analytical R&D Laboratory / QC Laboratory is a must
  • Preferably, candidates who have gained experience working in Method Development Validation in an R&D setting
  • Knowledge of principles referring to QbD, GMP, GLP, and ICH Guidelines would be considered an asset
  • Possess basic knowledge of applicable drug regulations as per ICH guidelines is considered an asset
  • Microsoft Office proficient

€35,000 to €40,000 / year
