Process Chemist

Our client, an international Pharmaceutical Company, is recruiting for a Process Technologist to report to the R&D Department. Duties here will include;

• Design and Optimization of processes in R&D and Kilo Lab.
• Prepare reference standards of starting materials, intermediates, active ingredients and impurities.
• Perform statistical design of experiments in order to optimize process parameters and identify critical process parameters.
• Perform in process controls by analytical techniques such as Thin Layer Chromatography, GC and HPLC.
• Perform analysis of Starting Materials, Intermediates and Active Ingredients by typical laboratory techniques including chromatography.
• Read scientific literature and patents and establish freedom to operate conditions.
• Assist in the scale-up of new processes in Kilo Lab, Pilot Plant and Production Plant.
• Writing the validation protocol and report of new processes being validated, or of those existing ones, being scaled up.
• Perform stress testing and forced degradation studies of new APIs.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment. 

• Have 2 years of experience in Process Chemistry (Lab and/or Pilot Plant) in the field of fine Chemicals, Agrochemicals, or Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients
• Be fluent in English, Maltese, Italian and/or Spanish will be considered as an asset
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, organisational skills, as well as show commitment and determination to learn and add value
• Based in Malta

• Having a First Degree in Chemistry or Biology is a must, whilst a Masters Degree would be a plus
