Business Intelligence Analyst

We're seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst for our office in Malta, with strong technical skills to drive data analysis, reporting, and insights across our organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will transform complex gambling data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making at all levels. You'll partner with multiple departments to optimize player acquisition, retention, responsible gaming initiatives, and overall business performance.

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau to track KPIs such as player acquisition costs, lifetime value, game performance, and betting patterns

• Conduct advanced ad-hoc analyses using SQL, Python, and R to identify opportunities for revenue growth, operational efficiency, and improved player experience

• Perform forecasting and predictive modelling to anticipate seasonal trends, promotional impact, and player behaviour

• Collaborate with external technical partners on data architecture, acting as the internal expert on interpreting complex event streams and player journey data

• Translate gambling-specific datasets into actionable insights, presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for leadership, focusing on critical metrics like NGR, player conversions, and retention rates

• Support compliance and responsible gaming initiatives through data analysis and monitoring

• Drive continuous improvement of BI processes, including automation of routine analytics tasks

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or related role

• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large, complex datasets

• Hands-on experience with Python for data manipulation, statistical modelling, and reporting automation

• Expertise building interactive dashboards in Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization tools

• Solid understanding of statistical concepts and ability to apply them to business problems

• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize and deliver under tight deadlines

• Experience in the online gambling, fintech, or e-commerce industries

• Knowledge of player lifecycle metrics and gambling-specific KPIs

• Familiarity with event-streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and real-time data processing

• Understanding of regulatory requirements in online gambling markets

• Experience with A/B testing methodologies and application to gaming products

• Technically strong and highly analytical, with a passion for uncovering insights from complex data

• Curious about player behavior and driven to understand the "why" behind the numbers
