InterContinental Malta is looking to recruit a Sales Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Job Role: 
As a Sales Manager, you are responsible to develop and foster business through proactive direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls, and tours of the hotel. Also develops strategic action plans for hotels to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue from the Italian market. You will proactively solicit new business from small business accounts, source new accounts identify new targets and re-solicit past business leads. 

Your main focus will be accounts based in Italy within the MICE, Corporate, and Leisure segments. Ideally, you are an Italian native speaker with a good level of business English and have experience with hotel proactive sales. The role is home office based yet 40 days+ of travel across Italy and occasional trips to Malta are to be expected.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Build a profile within the local market place through attendance at various events and local marketplace.
  • To proactively create and convert revenue opportunities for InterContinental Malta from qualified account leads for multi sectors and opportunities by planning and executing sales activities based on strategies and financial targets (segment revenue, room night, revenue, and ADR goals) outlined in the Hotel’s annual Business Plan
  • Monitors competitors’ activities and assists in marketing intelligence.
  • Monitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business.
  • Develop and maintain a regular pattern of sales calls
  • Grow existing business and establishes and pursue leads which will develop revenue opportunities
  • Assists with the preparation of seasonal promotions
  • Analyses sales mix and likely impact on hotel goals
  • Grow existing business and establishes and pursue leads that will develop business
  • Initiate and prepares tenders for business
  • Establishes and maintains effective employee relations
  • Participates in hotel social activities along with other team members
  • Plan and conduct familiarization tours and site inspections
  • Assist in the hotel’s sustainability system “Green Engage”
  • Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards

Requirements: 
  • The successful candidate will have a relevant Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of successful experience in hospitality and hotel sales.
  • You must feel comfortable working remotely whilst communicating and reporting to the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing based in Malta.   
  • Knowledge of Opera and Delphi is highly regarded.
  • Must speak fluent Italian & English.
