Sales Assistant (Textile)

Our client is looking to recruit a Sales Assistant to join their growing team within the Textile Department of one of their retail outlets. The chosen candidate will:

• Greet and assist customers in a warm, professional, and courteous manner
• Provide expert advice on textile products, with a focus on curtain fabrics and sewing techniques
• Assist customers with measurements and fabric calculations as needed
• Ensure the shop floor remains organized, visually appealing, and well-stocked
• Accurately process transactions when covering cashier/reception duties
• Respond to customer inquiries in person, by phone, and via email
• Restock shelves, manage inventory, and support with deliveries when required
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve store targets and deliver excellent customer experiences

WORKING HOURS:

Summer: Monday - Friday: 08:45 - 13:00 / 16:00 - 19:00 (split shift) & Saturdays 09:00 - 13:00

Winter: Same as above, except Tuesdays and Thursdays are open all day; therefore shift will be split accordingly

Requirements

• Presentable appearance and professional demeanour
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Polite, patient, and helpful attitude when dealing with customers
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Flexibility to cover cashier and reception duties as needed

Education and Experience

• Prior retail experience, preferably in textiles or home décor
• Strong knowledge of sewing, especially with curtains is a must (measuring, styles, finishes)
• Basic computer skills (experience with POS systems is a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English - Maltese is preferred.
