Apco Limited is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented professional to join our Business Development Team in the role of Business Development Manager.
The Position
Based in Malta and reporting to APCO Limited’s General Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for planning and executing a strategic sales approach targeting an assigned portfolio of existing customers, while proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and leads. The role involves driving business growth through client acquisition and the development of key accounts, as well as actively promoting the company’s products and services to potential clients. The candidate will be expected to follow up on leads, negotiate agreements, and close sales, while also maintaining and nurturing relationships with existing customers.
In addition, the role requires gathering and analysing market and customer insights to support sales efforts and refine strategy. The candidate will prepare client-facing presentations and represent the company at both local and international events. The position also includes responsibilities related to marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing APCO Limited’s visibility and promoting its products and services. Staying informed on industry trends and competitor activity is essential to ensure APCO Limited remains competitive and well-positioned in the market.

The Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a proactive sales hunter with proven experience in solution selling. This role requires a driven and motivated professional, preferably with a technical background, who excels at building and maintaining strong client relationships. The candidate should be skilled in closing deals and managing customer accounts effectively, demonstrating a strong grasp of the sales cycle from lead generation to post-sale support.
A background in EV technologies, HVAC systems, or security solutions is essential, along with prior experience in a similar sales or business development role. The preferred candidate will have an established network within the target industries and possess strong communication skills that support effective engagement with clients and colleagues alike. The ability to quickly establish trust and deliver value in business relationships is key, as is maintaining a positive, growth-oriented attitude that motivates both clients and team members.
Candidates with a technical foundation in electrical or mechanical fields will be given preference. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Maltese is considered an asset.
