Job Responsibilities and Duties
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to understand their unique needs and deliver customized accounting solutions;
Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements and reports for clients, ensuring they comply with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant regulations;
Lead and mentor a team of accountants, overseeing hiring, training, and performance assessments to ensure their professional growth;
Manage the client onboarding process, ensuring the seamless integration of their financial records into the company’s systems;
Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple clients, including account reconciliations and journal entries;
Review clients' bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance;
Coordinate with external auditors, managing the audit process for clients, and ensuring that audit findings are implemented;
Support clients in budgeting and forecasting by providing variance analysis and offering financial insights to aid in decision-making;
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls for clients, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of their financial records and safeguarding their assets;
Ensure clients comply with all local, state, and federal tax and reporting obligations, including timely filings;
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, introducing improvements to enhance operational efficiency;
Oversee the systems and software used for clients’ accounting, ensuring data integrity and safeguarding against security risks;
Collaborate with other teams within the firm to deliver a comprehensive suite of financial services to support client initiatives and projects.
Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; ACCA certification is preferred;
At least 6 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, ideally within a client-focused setting;
In-depth understanding of financial reporting standards and practices;
Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, as well as the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Personal Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in managing client relationships;
Capable of working autonomously while handling multiple client priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
Adaptable to daily changes and able to plan effectively while managing tight deadlines.
