Job vacancy: Junior Assistant within Supervisory Quality Assurance
Job code: SQA/001/2021

About Supervisory Quality Assurance:

The main objective of the Supervisory Quality Assurance function is to provide top management with assurance that supervision is being carried out in the most effective and efficient manner, consistently (i.e. harmonised/proportional practices across different licensed entities and, in some cases, also on a cross-sectorial basis) and in line with best practice. Without the SQA function, such assurance remains solely the responsibility of the supervisors within the supervision functions. However, the SQA function offers a further second line of defence by carrying out independent horizontal quality reviews on ongoing procedures and also assessing and providing recommendations for new projects in the pipeline.

The Role:
As a Junior Assistant within the Supervisory Quality Assurance Function you will be carrying out the following duties:
  • Assisting in Supervisory Quality Assurance related projects;
  • Conducting research and reviews in relation to the specific regulatory or supervisory issues across a number of sectors;
  • Compiling and drafting documents under the guidance of the team;
  • Undertaking any other tasks as delegated by the Head and management team of the Function, depending on the Authority's exigencies.

About You:
  • We are looking for candidates who are in the process of completing an undergraduate degree in Law, Banking & Finance, Commerce or in any other qualification related to financial services;
  • You will be expected to have the ability to manage competing priorities and a challenging workload and basic knowledge of the financial services framework in Malta;
  • You are also expected to be a confident individual who is flexible, dynamic, and have a critical and analytical mindset;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, as well as presentation skills, are a must.

How to apply or query further information:
Candidates are to forward a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) and an accompanying covering letter providing the motivation for the application.
