Malta International Airport is currently looking to recruit a Security Quality Assurance Professional to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

The following vacancies have arisen within the Security Services Department.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Security Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all security protocols, systems, and processes are operating at optimal level and comply with the business industry standards, legal requirements, and internal policies. You will work closely with the Security department, IT, and compliance teams to identify vulnerabilities, test security measures, and recommend improvements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Obtain Security knowledge in accordance to the Airport Security Programme (ASP), the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) in line with ICAO Annex 17, ECAC Doc 30, EC Regulation 300/2007. Additionally conduct regular internal audits, issue procedures and update security policies as necessary. Collaborate with third-party auditors and ensure audit findings are addressed promptly
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings from audits, tests, and assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of security vulnerabilities, test results, and remediation efforts
  •  Present security risk findings and improvement recommendations to senior management
  •  Test processes which are already in place as part of Quality control, and carry out vulnerability assessments in liaison with the business continuity department.  Evaluate the effectiveness of security measures and propose improvement methods to serve as means of proactive and reactive measures
  • Review and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines by current best practices and regulatory requirements
  •  Ensure adherence to internal security policies and industry standards through detailed quality checks
  •  Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, security, product development, compliance) to integrate security quality standards into processes and workflows
  •  Provide training and guidance to employees on security best practices and protocol adherence
  •  Record keeping of all security equipment and procedures about the aforementioned areas. This implies keeping up to date with all security folders and online systems in accordance with security requirements set out by MIA plc
  •  To ensure that all security equipment is properly utilized and that it is maintained well and fully functional; reporting failure of equipment and implementing contingency measures
  •  Preparing and assisting with CCTV footage for internal and external security purposes.


Requirements
The ideal candidates should:

  • In possession of a bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science or a related field
  • Minimum of two years experience in quality assurance, security auditing or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in quality assurance, security auditing, or a related field
  •  Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, ICAO and IATA
  •  Strong understanding of security principles, encryption standards, and security best practices
  •  Proficient in using tools for vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security monitoring
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  •  Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and training purposes.

This is an office-based position from Monday to Friday.
