IRIS THAUMAS Ltd in Malta is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our client's team to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. As a project manager, you will be responsible for helping to keep projects on a realistic timescale and budget.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a company focused on the construction and manufacture of building materials and is based in Naxxar, Malta.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc to determine the specifications of the project.
Obtain permits and licenses from authorities.
Communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and others involved in the project.
Determine needed resources (Manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
Manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work, and overseeing quality control.
Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing on budgets, and monitoring progress.
Check design documents with architects, surveyors, and engineers.
Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project, i.e. stakeholder management.
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
Manage projects as well as complexity within the program. Ensure projects meet internal and external customer requirements.
Responsible for accurate as well as timely reporting against the project plan budget in line with the agreed program.
Build as well as manage relationships with project stakeholders up to a senior level to understand the context plus impact of the project on the business line, ensure all stakeholder's views are managed towards the best solution for all business areas impacted; promotion of an environment of continuous improvement ensuring a QA process is applied through the project.
Responsible for the formal performance review process of direct reports.
May have responsibility for staff identification hiring process.
Deal with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
3+ years’ experience in Malta.
Building management, construction management, project management or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Working knowledge of the Maltese language will be considered an asset.
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
Ability to lead and supervise others.
Commercial awareness.
Good planning/organizing and interpersonal skills.
Team-player, good judgment, adaptability, dependability and innovative.
EDUCATION:
BSc/BA in Engineering, Building Science, including Civil Engineering or relevant field.
