Malta Public Transport Services (Operations) Limited is looking to recruit a Controller to join their team on a full-time basis.

- Check the daily operations of transportation, attending, and solving in real-time, all the incidents, changes, and problems that may occur in transport services
- Liaise with drivers in real-time to align services with planned schedules and minimise lost KM
- Attend to any incidents to minimise service interruptions and create related reports
- Provide support and direction to drivers during incidents with safety as a top priority
- Use the Tracking System and/or other technological tools that can be implemented in the Control Room
- Ensure proper quality of transport services in terms of frequency, timetables, and expeditions, trying to minimize those aspects that cause delays in the daily service
- Manage the information received, efficiently and confidentially
- Manage the most efficient and effective service in terms of the use of bus fleet and drivers
- Ensure compliance and security policies, risk prevention, data protection, quality, and environment established in the field of occupation and responsibilities
- Cooperate with the Control Room Manager in all the tasks that are required.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills (impact/influence);
- Have a positive energetic attitude with the ability to see solutions to occurring problems;
- Have the ability to work in a team, be assertive, flexible, and able to work under pressure in a changing environment;
- Be diplomatic and able to make good judgments in stressful situations;
- Take initiative to solve problems and unforeseen circumstances;
- Knowledge related to transport, safety procedures, and passengers’ Code of Ethics will be considered an asset.

We form part of an international network of transport companies present in four continents with over 40,000 employees. With over 120 years of experience in efficient management of urban transport as well as regional, national and international bus, coach and rail transport, our philosophy is to maximise on this international experience and adapt it to the local context wherever we operate, including Malta. As the national bus operator, we cover 30 million kilometres every year with our fleet of 406 buses and a team of over 1,300 people. In the past year, it is estimated that we carried around 40 million passengers, a significant increase when compared to previous years. Notwithstanding all of this, we are very well aware of the challenges we face and we are committed to improve the overall bus user experience and to provide a safe, credible and efficient bus service in Malta and Gozo.
