As part of its growth strategy, the company is seeking to recruit a passionate and aspiring individual for the post of Chief Operations Officer.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Chief Operations Officer will provide leadership and oversee the implementation of the commercial and operational strategies across the organization. The role will drive, communicate and foster team spirit and growth amongst the executive team and employees within the Operations Division.
The chief operating officer (COO) is a member of the senior management team and is the key person assisting the managing director in managing the business operation and administration functions of the business. The main duties of the COO are to ensure the efficient operations of the company in all its aspects.
The goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality of the business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.
Main responsibilities include:
Leadership: Deliver strategic leadership for defining and achieving the company’s administrative and operational efficiency leading to sustainable growth and cost control. This requires the COO to develop collaborative working relationships within the organization in pursuit of the company’s overall business goals. The role entails:
Collaborating with the Managing Director in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
Translating strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth and helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
HR: Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top-quality personnel. Such a function requires the COO to ensure the right approach to recruitment, training, appraisals, supervision and employee retention. The COO is also expected to establish and monitor progress against key performance indicators. Moreover, the COO shall oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
Operations: Analyse internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement by developing actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in line with the company’s vision. Moreover, monitor and track performance and propose corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports. Other operational responsibilities include:
Seamlessly integrating digitization, and automation to improve operational efficiency
Ensure ISO standards and requirements are adhered to at all times
Administration: Directly oversee operations, HR, Health and Safety, Data Protection and IT and in consultation with Senior Management Team identify and implement efficiency improvement programmes and coordinate investment in ICT and HR to ensure the achievement of the sales and profitability targets of the business.
