Job vacancy: Junior Assistant within Communications

About Communications:
The Communications function handles its internal and external communications with the aim of maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and keeping them up to date, be they employees, licence-holders, or the public at large. The function is also the designated brand guardian of the MFSA, managing its reputation and image on the various digital and offline platforms, through B2B and consumer education campaigns and events.

The Role:
  • Monitor digital news and print media coverage to circulate as necessary via Intranet;
  • Provide support in the organisation of local and international events, including webinars, conferences, and workshops – both in-person and online;
  • Supporting the Campaigns and Client Relations Officer with the handling of enquiries received from consumers and corporate clients via phone calls or post (mail) as well as those received via email and other digital platforms, and keeping the enquiries log up-to-date;
  • Prepare and compile reports/ statistics required for the different initiatives taken by the function;
  • Supporting the team with the setting up and rolling out of campaigns internally and externally, including the sourcing of quotes, a record of spending, designing of deliverables, and uploading of content for social media, the Authority's website, and intranet portal;
  • Provide support to the team in the day-to-day operations;
  • Other administrative tasks, such as the ordering of stationery, branding of documents, compiling presentations, maintaining an organised shared folder system, and maintaining a storage facility.


About You:
The candidate should:

  • Have an excellent command of English and Maltese, good writing skills, and an eye for detail;
  • Be able to organise, multi-task, meet strict deadlines and prioritise tasks in accordance with the requirements of the function;
  • Possess good communication and presentation skills;
  • Be able to work within a team as well as a multi-disciplinary office;
  • Have a flair for design and show readiness to learn how to use design software
  • Candidates should ideally be reading for a Degree in Marketing or Communications.
  • Previous experience working with software such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Lumen 5, WordPress, and Sharepoint will be considered an asset.
