Machinist

One of our clients in Malta is looking to recruit a Machinist to join their team within the manufacturing industry on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate should be ready to work on a three-shift basis 1 x week morning, 1 x week afternoon & 1 x week night shift. The chosen Machinist will be responsible for the running and the upkeep of the plant and machinery within the Packaging sections of the Operations department as well as to make sure that the operations are in line with the established quality and efficiency standards. 


A typical day will include:

• The running of the machinery and processes assigned to him/her, including the control of quality; 
• The maintenance of the machinery and plant; u Assisting in the troubleshooting of faults which may cause production to stop, whilst also assisting in the technical maintenance of the machinery;
• This also includes the periodic maintenance of overhauls etc;
• The quality by implementing tests on products as indicated by the standard operating procedures. 

You must be good at: 

• Good communication skills; 
• Have a good command of English & Maltese and able to read and write in both languages;  
• Be computer literate with proven certificate in ECDL;  
• Willing to work on a roster basis, including night shift.

You must also possess: 

• An ordinary Level certification; 
• If the candidate does not possess O-Levels or MQ Level 3 Engineering the Machinist will start as an operative for a year at a different package;
• Knowledgeable in mechanical and/or electrical field;
• Be flexible and willing to learn new machinery.
