Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Marble Factory Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, polishing stone surfaces to perfection, and ensuring that all work meets our high-quality craftsmanship standards. A strong work ethic, precision, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.
- Operate heavy machinery to polish and grind a variety of stone surfaces
- Manually polish areas that cannot be accessed by machine using abrasive blocks and water
- Safely operate a forklift to move and position materials onto polishing machinery
- Read plans and specifications to accurately measure and process stone materials
- Inspect stone surfaces for imperfections and fill cracks with color-matched wax
- Maintain polishing equipment and ensure a clean, organised working environment
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Perform duties as instructed by management from time to time
- Attend relevant training sessions to acquire new skills and knowledge that will enhance their performance on the job
Work Schedule
- Full-time 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, between 07:00 and 15:30. Depending on production demands, additional hours may be required during the week and occasionally on Saturdays
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Proven experience operating forklifts, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices
- Good physical condition and ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy materials when necessary
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clean police conduct certificate (must be presented)
- A valid and up-to-date Forklift Operator License (must be presented)
