Machine operator

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of steel reinforcement bars (rebar). This role involves handling raw materials, setting up machines, monitoring production processes, and ensuring the final product meets quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate various machinery such as cutting, bending, shearing, and threading machines used in rebar fabrication.

• Load raw materials into machines and monitor the process for efficiency and quality.

• Set up and adjust machine settings to meet product specifications and tolerances.

• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on machines to prevent downtime.

• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.

• Follow production schedules and work orders accurately.

• Maintain a clean and organised work area.

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating industrial machinery, preferably in a steel or metal fabrication environment.

• Familiarity with measurement tools (tape measure, callipers, gauges).

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

• Experience in a rebar production or steel fabrication facility.

• Be able to communicate in English language. 

Working Conditions:

• Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.

• Will be required to work overtime.
