Cutter / Machine Operator

Job Description
As part of our strategy for growth, we are currently seeking to recruit a professional Cutter/Machine Operator for Farrugia Textiles Ltd, their manufacturing arm for the BTI Uniforms Division within VF Group in Malta. 

The Position:
The Machine Operator forms part of our textile manufacturing division and performs duties as part of our production line. Duties vary according to operators’ capabilities but may include operation of sewing and embroidery machines, ironing, machine setting, and other related duties such as pattern making, cutting, and finishing.

The specific duties related to this position are as follows:

• Preparing fabric and pattern as per production order
• Transfer pattern to fabric
• Finecut the fabric lays
• Rawcut the fabric lays
• Organizing the stock of fabric,
• Placing orders for fabric according to demand
• Organizing the cutting room.

The Requirements:

• The selected candidate must have previous experience in a similar position, must be able to read, write and communicate in English, and have an aptitude for fashion design and an eye for detail.  
• Previous experience in a textile manufacturing environment would be ideal, however on the job training will be provided.
