Senior Legal Advisor

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join their collaborative in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal professional who enjoys tackling complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions. 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially minded, and eager to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal agreements involving suppliers, merchants, customers, and other third parties.
• Providing legal support to the business across a broad range of commercial and operational matters.
• Monitoring legal and regulatory developments, offering strategic guidance on emerging laws and regulatory trends.
• Assisting in the drafting and regular review of internal policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws.
• Addressing and resolving customer complaints in line with legal standards and company policy.
• Advising internal stakeholders on legal issues as they arise and working to mitigate legal risks across the business
• Delivering legal counsel on a wide range of areas including payment services, consumer protection law, data privacy, consumer credit, distance selling regulations, and employment law.
• Liaising with external counsel on matters relating to foreign jurisdictions.
• Carrying out any additional duties as required from time to time to support the legal function.

Requirements

• You are a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in both private practice and in-house roles.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• You are highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
• Confidence in interpreting complex legal issues and communicating them clearly to stakeholders to support business decisions.
• You thrive in high-performance environments and take a proactive approach to resolving legal challenges.
• Creative, resourceful, and eager to be involved in a wide range of legal topics and responsibilities.
