Junior Legal Counsel

Melita Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Junior Legal Counsel to join their team on a full-time basis.

You would be responsible for assisting with the continued growth of the company by advising senior management on the company’s legal and regulatory affairs in the fields of electronic communications, competition and intellectual property.

Responsibilities:

• Advising in a timely manner the company on regulatory issues and legal matters, both local and EU and maintaining an organised system reflecting changes and developments
• Assisting in the implementation of regulatory reports
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents, letters and terms and conditions
• Providing clarification on legal language to other departments within the company
• Updating internal policies and monitoring compliance
• Monitoring legal developments relevant to the Company
• Contributing to the objective image of the company and the department.

Requirements:

• A qualified lawyer in at least one European jurisdiction
• Smart, energetic and enthusiastic person who likes to delve into new legal topics
• Knowledge of EU law and Competition Law
• Exposure to Electronic Communications will be considered an asset
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Hunger to learn, grow in the role and succeed
• Fluent in oral and written English. Knowledge of German or another European language will be considered an asset
• High level of integrity to preserve confidentiality both in relation to business projects and clients,
• Ability to work as part of a team,
• Knowledge of the use of excel will be considered an asset,
• Problem-solving, meticulous, organisational skills and self-disciplined. All with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
