Junior Underwriter - Motor & Personal Lines

Our client is seeking a Junior Underwriter to join the Motor & Personal Lines department. Working within a team and reporting to the department supervisor you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and rating of business proposals including preparation and issuing of quotations;
• Delivery of a high-quality support service, mostly on motor, marine & personal lines risks, to our commercial area;
• Assisting in the pre-renewal process;
• Portfolio technical analyses;
• Handling other duties and special projects as may be required.
  
  Requirements & Qualifications

• A Minimum of secondary level of education;
• ​Preference will be given to applicants with MCAST Advanced Diploma in Insurance, CII qualification, University Degree or higher;
• Experience in an insurance technical environment, especially on marine products, is considered as an asset.
• You will hold excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving and decision making
• Excellent analysis and interpretation skills
• Be a team player
• Good Computer skills (Microsoft Applications)
• Be fluent in Maltese and English, any level of Spanish will also be considered an asset
• Currently living in Malta
