Insurance Broker

Thomas Smith & Co. Ltd in Malta is looking for self-motivated Insurance Brokers who can excel in a fluid environment and who are excited about dealing with people and delivering quality service. We need people who are able to think on their feet, offer unique perspectives for our clients, and have a sales aptitude. 

 The chosen candidate will:   

• Effectively manage an existing portfolio of clients; 
• Develop strong relationships with clients and add to the portfolio through tangible leads and recommendations; 
• Provide support to clients and follow up with prospective clients through quotations and answering queries; 
• Renew or amend existing policies; 
• Be involved in administrative tasks such as paperwork, correspondence, and keeping detailed records; 
• Keep up with changes in the insurance market and in the clients' industries; 
• Ensure the renewal process is seamless for all customers, proactively focusing on retention of all clients; 
• Effectively manage an existing portfolio of clients 
• Use the company's systems to administer quotes, new business, and renewals. 

• Have excellent written and verbal skills so as to communicate insurance specifics to customers;  
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills, with an outgoing personality and a positive attitude; 
• Have a talent for building rapport with the client and maintaining a trustworthy relationship; 
• Possess good listening skills and an excellent telephone manner; 
• Be focused, and precise, have a strong eye for detail and an ability to assess risks; 
• Previous experience working within an insurance environment with a good knowledge of Commercial and/or Marine products. 
• Applicants in possession of a CII Certificate and/or Diploma in Insurance will be considered an asset.
