Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Human Resources Director to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the effective management and performance of all Human Resources related activities in the properties within the remit. This includes talent management, succession planning, learning & development, performance management, compensation & benefits, employee relations, engagement, and health & safety initiatives. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training and initiatives to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs
  • Advises the senior team on new trends and legal changes and requirements in human resources management
  • Establishes company policies on conduct, health and safety, and disciplinary measures
  • Proactively identifies and develops talent within the organization
  • Plans and forecast short-term and long-term talent requirements for the hotels to support its business plans
  • Sets the HR and training strategy according to the overall business plans with ongoing reviews and modification
  • Implements learning and development strategies to continuously improve performance and guest satisfaction
  • Provides a framework for counselling coaching and welfare services
  • Assists the leadership team in managing change within the organisation, to positively impact the success of the business, through people systems, work culture and climate
  • Oversees an annual programme of appraisals and to ensures that a training needs analysis and succession planning exercise follows and is budgeted for and implemented effectively
  • Ensures that line managers are trained in handling employee relations issues effectively and in accordance with the law and company policy
  • Builds and maintains effective relations with third parties such as unions and outsourcing agencies
  • Leads, supports, coaches, mentors and trains the HR team as necessary
  • Prepares the annual manning budget for the properties and monitors the actual payroll expenditure
  • Ensures that health and safety and welfare provisions are in place for the HR team and all colleagues.


Requirements:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience within Human Resources at the HR Director level, ideally in luxury hotels, the service industry or the retail environment
  • Have previous experience with cluster roles
  • Be very familiar with Maltese labour law
  • Have strong commercial and business acumen
  • Have experience of working with Labour Unions
  • Possess developed skills in oral, written and presentation skills
  • Be able to express a viewpoint clearly and decisively
  • Be able to build strong relationships and project a positive attitude
  • Be financially astute and able to understand a P&L, payroll costs and forecasting is required
  • Have a knowledge of the HR Information System, payroll system and time and attendance systems
  • Holds a bachelor's level qualification or post-graduate HR qualification.
