Director of Human Resources

Breakwater Investments Limited is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead the people strategy for its diverse portfolio of companies, and manage HR Operations at Carmelo Caruana Company Limited (Malta), and ALLcom Sp. z o.o. (Poland).

THE ROLE

Based in Malta and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Breakwater Investments, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping careers, developing talent pipelines, building organisational capability, and embedding a performance-driven culture. The position requires blending strategic goals with hands-on delivery, using data insights to drive workforce planning, succession, and performance management across the group.

The selected candidate will also oversee HR leads across the group, ensuring policies and practices are aligned.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience in a senior HR leadership role, ideally within the engineering, shipping & logistics, or oil & gas industries. They will be adept at operating in fast-paced, evolving environments and comfortable working across diverse, multicultural teams.

A degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline is essential, along with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The role requires a structured and solutions-oriented approach, a proven ability to deliver strategic HR initiatives while remaining hands-on, and a willingness to travel regularly on company business.
