As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Human Resources Manager to strengthen our Human Resources function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing daily HR operations and ensuring business continuity in a growing and fast-paced environment, while supporting the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation;
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, ensuring a consistent, positive experience throughout.
  • Provide direct support to the HR Manager, assisting with the implementation of strategic HR initiatives, compliance matters, and departmental planning, while deputising in their absence;
  • Maintain accurate HR records, employee contracts, and personnel data in compliance with GDPR and internal controls;
  • Liaise with Identity Malta and ensure the timely submission and processing of work permit applications and renewals;
  • Support the performance management cycle by preparing documentation and assisting managers with appraisal processes;
  • Monitor training requirements and maintain records;
  • Assist with employee relations matters, acting as a first line of support for internal queries;
  • Prepare and analyse HR reports and dashboards to support management decision-making;
  • Promote a positive workplace culture by contributing to employee engagement, internal communication, and well-being initiatives.

 

Candidate Profile

Education

  • A degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • A qualification or formal training in Maltese employment law.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ well-rounded experience in a generalist HR role. Previous experience in managing a team is a plus;
  • Hands-on involvement in recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, HR documentation, employee support, and compliance.

Skills

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems is given preference;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English;
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
