DoubleTree by Hilton Malta is excited to announce openings for full-time and part-time Sushi Chef.  

As a Sushi Chef, you will collaborate closely with our Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to ensure the consistency and excellence of our menu offerings. You will oversee the daily kitchen operations and perform the following responsibilities to the highest standards:

With multiple Food & Beverage outlets, we’re assembling a powerhouse team of Chefs at all levels to deliver an unforgettable culinary experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the sushi section’s daily operations, ensuring high-quality service and efficient kitchen operations.

-Assist in other sections when required.

 - Prepare high-quality sushi and sashimi dishes ensuring the freshness and presentation meet restaurant standards.

 - Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs to refine sushi offerings and maintain menu excellence.

- Maintain inventory of sushi-grade fish and other essential ingredients, ensuring timely ordering and proper storage.

- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.

- Interact with guests when required, offering sushi recommendations, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction with their dining experience. 

- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role 

- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation, techniques and Japanese cuisine

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment 

- Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail 

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively 

- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
