Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
  • Oversees kitchen staff to ensure efficient, high-quality food production.
  • Ensures consistent food quality, taste, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Manages inventory, including ordering supplies and reducing food waste.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment according to health and safety regulations.
  • Trains and mentors junior kitchen staff and supports staff development.
  • Assumes leadership in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
  • Collaborates on menu development and special event planning.
  • Controls food costs and helps manage kitchen budget effectively.
  • Handles customer feedback related to food quality and dining experience when needed.
