Larder Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Sous Chef to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various cuisines, with a particular emphasis on Chinese cuisine. The Sous Chef will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, and maintaining the high standards of our ghost kitchen. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where creativity and consistency are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef: Support in the daily operation of the kitchen, including planning and directing food preparation
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef in developing and refining menus, with a focus on Chinese cuisine, office lunches, and meal prep offerings
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and consistency, adhering to our brand standards
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, maintaining a positive and productive work environment
  • Inventory Management: Assist in ordering, receiving, and managing inventory to ensure freshness and reduce waste
  • Food Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
  • Adaptability: Able to switch between different types of cuisines and meal preparations, maintaining high standards across all offerings
  • Cost Control: Work with the Head Chef to manage food costs and optimize kitchen operations for efficiency.
