Mykonos by Yiamas, a Greek casual dining restaurant in Malta, is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead the team in providing exceptional service and an unforgettable dining experience. The Restaurant Manager will ensure the efficient operation of the restaurant, maintain high standards of production, productivity, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have management skills and experience in both front and back of house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with pre-opening and opening of the restaurant
  • Leading team recruitment efforts
  • Coordinating daily Front of House and Back of House restaurant operations
  • Providing on-the-job training to team members to ensure smooth-running operation
  • Communicating effectively with the team and delegating tasks
  • Delivering superior service and maximising customer satisfaction
  • Organising and supervising shifts
  • Regularly reviewing product quality and ordering products
  • Nurture and maintain relationship with suppliers
  • Estimating future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products
  • Controlling operational costs and identifying measures to reduce waste
  • Ensuring required stock is well maintained, including cutlery, glassware, and other equipment
  • Establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures for all Front of House personnel
  • Managing the restaurant's reputation and suggesting ways to improve it
  • Presenting bills and accepting payments
  • Monitoring and ensuring proper hygiene standards are adhered to by all food and beverage team members
  • Maintain cleanliness and own personal appearance

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours a week split as required by restaurant opening hours
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays as required

Experience

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in similar managerial position
  • Experience within a fast-food Greek restaurant would be considered an asset

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Expertise in authentic Greek cuisine is an advantage
  • Fluency in English is required, with Greek proficiency preferred
  • Professional communication skills, appearance, and behaviour
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective multitasking and prioritisation abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Education and Training

  • Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Operation or related subject is considered an asset
  • European passport or working permission to work in Malta
