Pastry Chef de Partie

Corinthia Hotel St. Geroge's Bay in Malta is currently looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
The ideal candidate should be an ambitious, determined, and highly motivated individual, who will support the hotel’s kitchen department operation and production and would be able to perform the necessary duties.

Responsibilities:

• The day-to-day preparation and service of Pastry and Bakery whilst ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times to the standards required by the hotel
• Assisting with the management of all food products for clients within the hotel
• Assisting in the ordering of food purchases and stock control, ensuring that stock levels are in line with Company requirements
• Ensuring that maximum effort is given to achieve an efficient service whilst maintaining the highest possible standards
• Maintaining effective communication within the department
• Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc. following traditional and modern recipes
• Ensuring excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings
• Following proper handling and right temperatures of all food products.

Requirements:

• Hold an ITS food preparation and production diploma or equivalent
• Be in possession of a valid food handler’s license
• Have attention to detail, creativity, and artistic abilities
• Have a flexible attitude to working hours
• Have good communication skills
• Be able to work clean and tidy and in a timely manner
• Have good communications skills
• Demonstrate excellent skills in one or more areas of patisserie ie: sugar, chocolate, afternoon tea, plated desserts, or banqueting.
